American Medical Associations stand on PhotoShop

 The American Medical Association (AMA) acknoledged the fact that altered images of unrealistic bodies contribute to a unfair expectation of an appropriate body image. The most impressionable by this are children and adolescents. The AMA also expressed how there have been many studies linking retouched images of the media to eating disorders and other health problems.  Dr. Barbara McAneny said, “The appearance of advertisements with extremely altered models can create unrealistic expectations of appropriate body image.” ‘We neet to stop exposing impressionable children and teenagers to advertisements portraying models with body types only attainable with the help of photo editing software.
